Great trip. Guide was very knowledgeable. Was very enjoyable. Highlight was seeing a cassowary and its babies. Well worth it. It is a wonderful experience to see cassowaries in the wild and I am glad you got to see Elvis and his chicks that day. I am very glad you enjoyed the cruise. Warren was his usual friendly, informative, witty self, coming up with many interesting facts and tales of the district and rainforest. We fed the fish and turtles and saw a Cassowary with chicks up close while relaxing and cooling off on a warm afternoon.

This was a great little tour. We spent about 40 minutes on the boat touring up and down the river seeing what we could see. We were lucky enough to see a cassowary with her chicks and some fish and turtles feeding. We didn't see a crocodile though but that was ok the tour was still interesting and informative. Our guide, I believe was Kay, told us a lot about the history of the place and interesting points about the river. A nice relaxing way to spend some time on the river at Kuranda :.

The male cassowary solely hatches the eggs and looks after the chicks for months. An awesome and an unexpected experience. Saw a Cassowary and little ones up close.
